TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – February 4, 2013 – Tallahassee-based Upton Law Firm announced today that it is joining forces with Washington, D.C.-based Dialysis Advocates to work on dialysis care issues.
Upton Law Firm is investigating the dialysis products GranuFlo and NaturaLyte. These products have been linked to an increased risk of heart disease and death. According to a New York Times article, the manufacturer, Fresenius Medical Care, was aware of the dangers associated with these products but failed to warn patients and doctors. The company’s actions have placed more than half of all dialysis patients in the United States at risk.
This new alliance gives Upton Law Firm access to the unparalleled expertise of Dialysis Advocates and its leader Arlene Mullin. Mullin has been at the forefront of dialysis care issues for over 15 years and played a key role in hearings on the dialysis industry before the U.S. Senate.
